Co-founded by Dr. Victoria Sharples and Dr. Rebecca Howard, the New Materialist Research Group began in 2021 at the University of Derby as a reading group and has since evolved into a dynamic research collective. It supports and facilitates research focused on new materialist approaches to art practice, research, and curation, fostering dialogue and collaboration across creative and theoretical disciplines. The group is open to academics, researchers, technicians, and students.
